Coach Garbero enters his first season as an assistant baseball coach at Lone Peak High School. Coach Garbero has held a variety of positions in the game of baseball. He played high school baseball and was named All-Metro in St. Louis, MO as a pitcher his senior year. He attended Parkway West High School in which his teams were ranked nationally in the top 25 during his junior and senior years.

After graduating from high school then serving a two-year church mission in Barcelona, Spain, he attended Brigham Young University (B.S. in P.E. Teaching/Coaching in 2002) while he coached the Provo High School Sophomore Baseball team for one year and was BYU Baseball’s Equipment Manager for two years.  He then went on to get his graduate degree from the University of San Francisco (M.A. in Sport Management in 2006) and was an Associate Scout for the San Diego Padres during his time living in the Bay Area.

Having been born and raised in St. Louis (Chesterfield), the best baseball city in the world, he is a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan. So in his spare time, he eats, drinks, and sleeps St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. He and his wife, Ali, have been married since 2005 and have one daughter, Riley. He has been a P.E. & Spanish Teacher off and on over the past 15 years, most recently at Challenger School. Currently, he and his wife work together in real estate, but he plans on going back into teaching since what he misses the most is making a positive difference in his students’ lives.
